The American Heart Association's Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Classroom Course is designed for such as: EMS personnel, Doctors, Nurses, Nursing Students, CNA's, EMT, Paramedic, and Medical Therapists of all types. Please confirm with your employer this is your required class. For new or renewing certifications. If you have an unexpired BLS certification, see our BLS Renewal course.

 

The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers(Renewal) classroom course is designed to provide CPR training(adult, children & infants), how to use an AED, team dynamics and how relieve choking in adults, children & infants. This BLS course is specifically for healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, CNA's, doctors, dentists, nurses, nursing students, EMT and paramedic students, and therapists. It is a condensed version of the new course. You MUST HAVE A CURRENT, UNEXPIRED AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION certfication to take the BLS Renewal course. Please bring your current certification card to class. IF YOU DO NOT BRING YOUR CARD YOU WILL BE RESCEDULED TO A BLS FOR NEW HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS CLASS at a later date.

NOTICE: The 2015 AHA updated guidelines are in use and all students are required to have a manual for class. There is a 25 question test at the end of class. You can use the manual for the test. Manuals can be purchased when registering on-line for your class, or available at the class for purchase.

For the on-line course only. Complete the online course at (www.onlineaha.org) for your HEARTCODE® BLS FOR HEALTHCARE PROVIDER certification. Then print out your certificate and bring it with you for your skills test session.

 

Heartsaver®  First Aid CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. 

Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies.  This course also teaches adult CPR and AED use.

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid, CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. OSHA  approved.

This course is required for the following:
Camp counselors, Child care workers, Foster care workers, Teachers,Youth group leaders, and others responsible for children including parents, grandparents, babysitters, and guardians,

Please complete the ACLS SELF-ASSESSMENT and bring a copy of completion to class. You can find key code to take assessment in page 2 of ACLS manual. This is a good study tool for ACLS. This material is provided to give you additional information you will find helpful for the course.

The ACLS class is designed primarily for healthcare professionals in emergency departments, intensive care units, critical care departments, surgical areas, or pre-hospital environments. ACLS is based on realistic simulations reinforcing the following key concepts: 

  • New Science of Resuscitation and Systematic Approach.
  • Identifying and treating ischemic chest pain and acute coronary syndromes; recognizing other life threatening clinical situations (such as stroke) 
  • Megacode (Ventricular Fibrillation / Ventricular Tachycardia (VF/VT) (Out-of-Hospital and In-Hospital). ACLS algorithms and managing cardiac arrest. 
  • Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symtomatic bradycardia, svt, ventricular tachycardia with pulses.
  • Cardioversion, Defibrillation and Pacing. Airway management and confirmation devices.
